Dr. Matthew Smith BSc. MCHIR - Chiropractor
Born in country Victoria on a dairy farm, I had always been interested in the human body, and "how things worked". Chiropractic seemed a logical and interesting career choice as my father had experienced a lot of back problems as a dairy farmer. Having seen the tremendous results he received, our whole family was soon attending the chiropractor for regular care, both for general checks, and for more specialized care following many motorbike, pushbike and football accidents! I am first and foremost a Chiropractic patient myself. I get checked on a regular basis as do my whole family.
Since graduating in 2003 he has worked in one of Australia's busiest Gonstead Chiropractic clinics in Cairns, done locum work in Australia and practiced in Europe for 6 years, including running one of the UK's busiest practices in Scotland for 5 years. In 2011, Dr. Smith moved with his partner Nicky (our Physiotherapist) to start Absolute Health & Chiropractic clinics in Mooloolaba and Noosa.
Dr. Smith practices a range of different techniques, adaptable to each patient, including:
- Gonstead
- Diversified
- Drop peice - A mechanical table assisted technique
- Activator - A non-manipulative technique
- Sacro-Occipital technique (SOT) - A non-manipulative technique, which also adjusts cranial bones, soft tissues and internal organs.
-CBP - For specific postural correction programs.
